Primary 1.2 have been working very hard on their literacy the past couple of weeks. We made ‘vowel ice creams’ to prepare us for learning the magic ‘e’ sound. We had lots of fun designing our own magic ‘e’ wands and using the magic to help us read new words 💫.
Well done Primary 1 🌟!
1.2 had lots of fun celebrating the coronation of King Charles. We painted the Union Jack, ate scones and made our own crowns 👑 .
Primary 1.2 have been working super hard during their first week back after the holidays! We have been revising our phonics and numbers skills, having fun with the new set up outdoors, practising our ball skills and learning all about Eid! Well done Primary 1 and Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating ❤️.
A huge well done to Primary 1 for their efforts decorating their eggs, all of them were super! We had a lovely day in 1.2, the Easter bunny visited and left us chocolate and Primary 2 came to read Easter stories to us.

Today 1.2 got a special video from a Fire Fighter asking the class to write questions to them about their job. We learned all about questions and worked super hard to write our own. We put Mr Duncan on the hot seat to test them out.

1.2 have been working super hard on their maths and literacy. In maths we have been learning about symmetry and making our own symmetrical butterfly paintings. We really enjoyed this! In literacy we have been focusing a lot on reading and working on the difference between fiction and non-fiction.
1.2 have been learning all about people who help us in the community. Last week we had a special visit from a nurse who told us all about her job! We prepared questions to ask the visitor about her role as a nurse and found out very interesting things. We learned things such as why she wanted to be a nurse, what her favourite part of the job was and how she helps people. A huge thank you to our nurse visitor from 1.2 ❤️.
Today we spoke about our emotions. We discussed all different types of emotions we can have and times we have felt them. We chose an emotion and made an “emotion monster” and our classmates had to guess what the emotion was.
1.2 have loved learning all about the different roles in the community and how they help us. Today we made posters about different jobs in our local community and enjoyed some role play in the new areas in the classroom.
Primary 1.2 had lots of fun designing their love heart craft for Valentines day ❤️. This allowed them to practise their cutting and sticking skills.
