Wow, I was so impressed with the children’s time capsules they made for STEM fortnight! It was lovely to hear about their favourite memories and foods, see photographs of families and when they were babies, as well as see some unusual objects.

Pupils from St Ninians High School visited us to tell us about the work they have been doing as bee keepers. We learned different facts about bees, how they look after the bees, what equipment they use and how bees make honey. We also got to hold and feel a honeycomb piece. 🐝 🍯
Yesterday we learned about the life cycle of a flowering plant. Today we planted broadbean seeds. We are exciting to see our plants progress and grow! 🌱
Scott works at Asda as a Community and Charity Champion. He visited us to tell us about his job and educate us on where foods come from.
We read the story “The Owl Who was Afraid if the Dark”. We then went outside to collect some materials so we could make our own owls. Look at our fabulous owls for STEAM! 🦉
The Triangles maths group were learning to make different amounts of money. They made totals and photographed their work.

Today we were learning about the different parts of a plant. We enjoyed investigating flowers and dissecting them. We labelled the parts and also created our own flowers using a variety of materials.

Renie, a park ranger from Dams to Darnley did some work with us out in the woodland area today. We learned about trees and how to tell their age by measuring the thickness of their trunk. We did this with string and also did some bark rubbings. It was extra fun being out in the snow! 🌲 🌳 ❄️ 😁
The circles and triangles groups have been learning about symmetry. Today we created our own symmetrical patterns.
We have been learning to say the colours in French. We had a colour hunt and had to find items that were certain colours.
