Sculpture fun!

George made a sculpture of an owl using clay.

We have been learning about sculptures in Expressive Arts. After learning about plastic pollution, we have designed sculptures to make people aware of this global problem.

Jack “We have been inspired by works of art.”

“We have found pictures on the internet and put them into Word documents.” Thomas P

“We have looked at sculptures and picked our favourites.” Zara

Problem Solving

The problem solving task involved moving gold bars in 2 moves. We used problem solving strategies.

“We tried and tried again and we got it.” Kyle

“It was a wee bit hard but we got it in the end.” Tilly

“There were stacks of 3,5, 2 and 6 gold bars and we had to make them the same.” Eilidh

Owl Learning

We have been learning about owls. We have been reading ‘The Owl that was afraid the Dark’.

“I liked it when Plop called the lady Father Christmas.” Anabelle

“I liked it when Plop was finally not scared of the dark.” Alice

“These are owl feathers from the 5 Sisters Zoo. The ones with dots are male and the ones with no dots are female.” Amelia

“Owls are interesting because they can turn their heads around and they eat mice whole.” Kyle

A Busy Time in P2!

Primary 2, I was impressed when reading your posts about all the different learning opportunities this term.

Your inventions and the level of effort put in to preparing your models, design drawings and presentations were absolutely fabulous. I hope that you continue to enjoy your regular trips out and about in the local community and indeed to the Glasgow Science Centre. The confident presentations of your weather forecasts using new and interesting vocabulary were well received by your teachers and your friends.

Have a happy and healthy Spring holiday.

I am very proud of you!
