We started learning about Judaism and why Jerusalem is important to Jews.
We looked at their religious building the synagogue and identified objects found inside a synagogue.

Wow, what a range of fun and challenging activities that you have been taking part in.
I really loved the look of your Scratch Art pictures, they looked amazing. I hope you were able to get your hands clean, after all that pastel smudging, Eloise.
Your work on the human body in Science looked great and it appeared that you all really enjoyed your learning. It was great to see you placing the pictures of organs in the right places on your body outlines.
You looked brilliant on Big Me day and I really enjoyed seeing all of the great jobs careers that you hope to be involved in when you’re a bit older. Hopefully, your discussions and work that day have helped you to focus on what you need to do to achieve your goals.
Finally, what great achievements Anna and Jaime, I know everyone is very proud of you and rightly so!
Keep working hard and enjoying your learning.
Mr Masters
This week we used our sense of smell to identify different smells.
“The smells were really tricky to identify,” Callum.
“My favourite smell was toothpaste,” Andrew.
Last week we came to school dressed as what we would like to be when we are older.
We spoke to other people in our class about the skills and qualities we would need to do that job and why we would like to do it.
In our writing we also wrote about the careers we would like and why we had chosen them.
“It was fun that we got dress up and see what other people wanted to be when they are older” – Dylan
“I liked seeing other people’s costumes” – Daniel
“I would like to be a Chemical Engineer because I really like mixing different liquids” – Eloise
Some of the stories we read and discussed in R.M.E. are:
The Lost Son
The Lost Coin
The Lost Sheep
In science we have been experimenting with our senses.
Last week we used our sense of taste but removed our sense of smell to guess what the flavour of the crisps were.
This week we used our taste buds on the different parts of our tongue to taste salty, sour, bitter and sweet.
We also did another taste test, removing our sense of sight to guess the flavour of the skittles.
Anna has been competing in a tennis tournament with her tennis club Newlands Tennis Club. She came first in her group and will hopefully be moving onto orange ball in the near future. She received a trophy and a plate for this win.
Well done Anna!
Prior to this she won a 3rd place medal for another competition. We have a tennis star in primary 4.2!
Jaime attends a taekwon-do club twice a week. She was competing in a tournament at the weekend where she came third and won a bronze medal. Jaime is currently a blue belt.
What an amazing achievement Jaime, we are all very proud!
‘Today we celebrated his 100th birthday,’ James.
‘ Even our warm up in P.E. was inspired by his books,’ Eloise.
‘We had fun making up our own Roald Dahl names,’ Felix.
‘In problem solving, we had to work out the seating arrangements for all the characters,’ Sarah L.
