Katie Morag

We have been learning all about Scotland through our Katie Morag lessons with Mr Thomson. We have learned what foods come from Scotland (Erin), made porridges from oats (Jonah), measured the weather (Zachary), read Katie Morag stories, watched Katie Morag video clips (Skye), wrote letters to Katie Morag (Milla), made our own stories (Naomi) and went on a park walk (Sally). It has been so much fun! (Aviv).

Football Festival

We took part in Tesco’s school Football Festival. Firstly, we walked all the way from our school to Muired Pavilion. I felt so tiered when I got there! (Sally). When we got there, we had our packed lunch on the side of the pitch, it was freezing cold! (Skye). Some people tried to count all the nets set up! (Milla). We were then split into teams and played lots of different games of football. Everyone managed to get one goal but it was very hard to beat the other schools because they were all very good! (Logan). At the end of the games they took a big photo of us! It started to hailstone so we went into the pavilion to keep warm (Sienna). We then walked all the way back to school in the pouring rain! (Meir). We all had so much fun!

We invited our parents in to see what we have been learning.

Our new  topic is Katie Morag so we will be learning all about the weather in Scotland. We all know Scotland is very stormy so for our parent workshop we did lots of activities to do with storms.

We painted a stormy seaside, we made stormy movements and created stormy music.

We went to the Science Centre because we have been learning about our senses. We spent the morning exploring all three floors of the science centre. In the afternoon we went to a senses workshop. We had to smell different smells like chocolate, orange, toothpaste and rose.

My favourite part was going on the hamster wheel. -Sally

Chanukah

The school has been very lucky as each class in the school was given a menorah from Rabbi Reuben. Each day of Chanukah, a different child was able to light the menorah in the class. It was a very special moment that we could all share together.

Football

Primary Two have just finished a 6 week block of football coaching. Over the weeks, we have developed our dribbling, passing and shooting skills. We had to work well together as a team.

We worked at passing to make our team better.- Logan

We have been learning all the new rules for football.- Meir

All about this week

LITERACY AND ENGLISH

“We have been learning about Autumn.  We took whiteboards and pens outside to look around and we wrote down words of things we saw. When we came back to the classroom, we writed in our jotters what we saw.  We did a mind map. A mind map has a word in the middle and then lines coming out with our ideas.”

Meir

“We wrote some Autumn poems”

Milla

IVRIT

“With Shosh and Mrs Rosenberg we have been learning about how g-d created the world. On Day one g-d made light and dark.  On day two, g-d separated the sky and the sea.  On day three, g-d created the flowers, trees, plants, vegetables and fruit on the trees. On day four, g-d created the stars, sun and the moon.  On day five, g-d created birds and fish.  On day six, g-d made the rest of the animals and a man called Adam.  On day seven, g-d rested.”

All of Primary Two

P.E.

“We had a coach called Tommy come to our P.E. lesson.  He played football games with us.  We talked about different movements like running, hopping and skipping. We did kicking skills and we had to trap the ball.  I loved the lesson.  It was really fun”
