The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

We have been reading The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch in Literacy and have been using the story in our writing. The story is about Mr and Mrs Gringling and their pet cat Hamish. The story is set in a cottage by the seaside. Seagulls start to eat Mr Gringling’s lunch, so he tries to come up with a plan to stop them! Mrs Gringling then had a great idea. She put mustard in Mr Gringling’s sandwiches and the seagulls disappeared for good.

The story was brilliant!- Fathima

I thought that Mr and Mrs Gringling would loose against the seagulls, but they didn’t!- Jonah

I thought Mrs Gringling was clever. -Sheer
