School Book Fair

Last week we were given a very important job……running the school book fair! We worked in groups of three at the book fair. We were given a rota by Mr Robson. Some children covered during break time, some during lunch and some during class time. We had to work out the correct change to give to our customers (pupils from different classes), it’s a good thing we know how to do calculations mentally! We also had to keep a note of the books/items sold and the ones which we had to order. A great amount of money was raised. It was so much fun but so stressful at the same time!

Show Racism the Red Card

racism

This week P5 have been learning about racism and how it is bad. Many of us didn’t know much about racism, so we watched a video about it and discussed it in our class.  We wrote about racism because there was a competition called ‘Show Racism the Red Card’.  We decided to write imaginative stories using our own ideas about how to get the message across that racism is wrong and that we should all be accepted for our personalities and not the way we look.  Four of the class stories were entered in to the competition and we will find out if any of them have qualified for the final.

We will keep you posted in the weekly blog if they are!
