Marie Curie

On Friday 8th of April P4and P5were visited by a lady called Miss Mckerlish who was from Marie Curie.  She was a secondary school teacher, a funeral speaker, and loads of other things.  She came to talk to us about Marie Curie which is a charity that raises money for cancer care and support.  She told us about different things that people do to fundraise such as going on a lot of trips and climbing mountains.  It was a very big help for us to understand what they do as a charity and how they use the money that is raised.  Did you know it cost £48 million a year to run the nine Marie Curie care homes across the UK?  We learned a lot about Marie Curie and we can’t wait to see how much money we will raise for Marie Curie at P5 and P4’s Daffodil Tea.
