Each week you are also to learn five words that you have selected yourself with the spelling rule taught on Mondays. These will not be on spelling city. Instead, practise the rule making your words using active strategies (writing words on a partners back to guess, make with pasta or playdoh, rainbow writing, cheerleading the words etc\u2026). You do not hand evidence of this in to school. It should be short, fun and engaging. You will complete a short dictation which uses words of a similar difficulty, though not the 5 specific words, which follow the spelling rule on Fridays.<\/p>\n<p>**This week is week 13, the rule is words ending in &#8216;l&#8217; and &#8216;ll&#8217;**<\/p>\n<p>Science and Numeracy &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Access <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ercultureandleisure.org\/libraries\">East Renfrewshire&#8217;s Libraries Website<\/a>\u00a0and use the class login . When you first\u00a0open the link\u00a0select Children\u2019s &gt; School Children &gt; Homework and this will allow you to open the link to the Britannica Library site which East Renfrewshire libraries pay to access. This allows you to open more information than on the Britannica website, and ensures your search is safer than on google.\u00a0 You are also able to access ebooks and audiobooks through the Borrowbox link on the ERC Libraries website.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/library.eb.co.uk\/storelibrarycard?id=eastrenfrewshire\">LIBRARY BRITANNICA LOGIN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You are going to research\u00a0one of <strong>the eight planets of our solar system<\/strong>. You have to display the information you find in an interesting and creative way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You must include<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The name of the planet: Does its name have any meaning?<\/li>\n<li>How the\u00a0planet was\u00a0discovered.<\/li>\n<li>The planet&#8217;s distance from the sun. What size is the planet?\u00a0Can you compare this to something else\u00a0to help us imagine its size?<\/li>\n<li>The length of the planet&#8217;s days and years.<\/li>\n<li>The average temperature on the planet. Does it have seasons?<\/li>\n<li>Which materials the planet is\u00a0predominantly made from.<\/li>\n<li>A description of the planets appearance, especially any interesting features.<\/li>\n<li>Information about moons orbiting\u00a0the planet. If there are any can you\u00a0include some more information, for example:\u00a0how many, when were they discovered, do they have names, are they\u00a0similar to the planet they\u00a0orbit?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Make your display as exciting and interactive as you can. You will present your findings to\u00a0groups on Friday the 14th of February\u00a0so DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR DISPLAY WITH YOU.
