Our\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">experience of what is happening or has happened in our lives will influence our mental wellbeing. Sometimes, when\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">we experience thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are challenging or distressing, it can be difficult to move back\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">to the positive end of this continuum. There will be lots of things that influence how we cope and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">show resilience at times like these.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">Relationships<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">In almost all situations, people\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">mental wellbeing is best supported by those closest\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">to them.\u00a0 This can include parents, carers or family members, friends,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">and other key adults such as a teacher in school.\u00a0 Even if you are feeling lonely or isolated, there is usually someone in your life that you can speak to about it, if you look hard enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Our relationships with other people can help us to learn coping strategies along\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">the way that help us to manage difficult times and develop our resilience<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">.\u00a0 We often learn by watching how others deal with the challenges they face.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">Resilience<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">Our resilience is our ability to cope with challenges and bounce back after them, sometimes even stronger than we were before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">Strategies<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">These are the things that we can do regularly which will help us to cope with challenges throughout our life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff\">Support<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080\">In some situations, people will experience\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">times when they need some additional or specialist support.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">This may be because of the impact of what they have\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000080\">experienced, such as loss, trauma, neglect or abuse.\u00a0 If you think that this might apply to you speak to a trusted adult in your life, either at home or in school.\u00a0 They will be able to help you to find the right support.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It can be helpful to think of mental wellbeing as a continuum that ranges from feeling happy and content\u00a0to experiencing challenges that can be extremely difficult to manage.\u00a0How you should respond and the support that you might needs depends on where you are on this continuum.
