This means that they<br \/>\nare taught the knowledge, skills and capabilities that they need to develop coping strategies and mental wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #999999\">Targeted<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nFor children who require further help to support their wellbeing, schools and nurseries use a variety of strategies<br \/>\nand interventions based on an assessment of individual need. This may include accessing a social skills group, or<br \/>\nan exam stress group or arranging regular check-ins between a child and young person and key member of staff.<br \/>\nSome children benefit from a wellbeing assessment and plan which considers the abilities and needs of individual<br \/>\nchildren and young people, and takes account of the person\u2019s experiences within school, at home and in the<br \/>\ncommunity. The overarching aim of the wellbeing assessment is to identify strengths and protective factors, as well<br \/>\nas the vulnerabilities and risks present in the life of the child or young person. Wellbeing assessments and plans<br \/>\nare carried out to identify targets and support strategies that best promote the child\u2019s wellbeing within their own<br \/>\nindividual circumstances.
