In partnership with Wholefoods Market in Giffnock, a number of our schools are taking part in the Souper Douper Challenge. Primaries have created some beautiful artwork which will shortly be judged, the winners being incorporated into a calendar. The secondary competition involved classes visiting the store, researching ingredients and making their own soups, which will be made by the chefs @ Wholefoods, in order to choose a winner. The winning soup will be made in store! I had the pleasure of visiting Philippa Craig’s class @ Eastwood High with a few staff from Wholefoods, to taste their winter warming pumpkin soup. I’ll post the recipe just as soon as I’ve worked out how to… Meanwhile, here is a beautiful picture of the pots they used to make the soup. Alison and I are off to Sarah Robinson’s class @ Mearns Castle tomorrow to taste some more soup 🙂 This is a fine example of how our schools, in partnership with local business, bring the curriculum to life.
