Mr Atkinson\u2019s comment:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This week we announced to the Primary 6 pupils that they will be performing in a show based on The Broons! Next week we will be issuing parts, lines and lyrics, some of which are already available to view on our Google Classroom. Homework will be slightly adjusted to give the P6 children more time to practise. As always we appreciate your support with this.<\/p>\n

Our trout eggs arrived this week as part of our new topic – Clyde in the Classroom! All of the pupils have been working incredibly hard in their jobs to help the trout eggs grow.<\/p>\n

Finally, I am looking forward to meeting guardians and parents next week at Parents Night. Some jotters and work have been sent home for you to discuss with your child before our meeting.<\/p>\n

Literacy and English<\/b><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ruairidh \u2013<\/strong> This week for writing we wrote a persuasive letter to Mrs McGuigan requesting for the upcoming renovation to include areas where we can create animal habitats such as ponds and grow a Crookfur garden. We also mentioned how these ideas would help us with achieving our John Muir award. In our letters we included rhetorical questions, persuasive openers and engaging vocabulary.<\/p>\n

Numeracy and Maths<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Eva –\u00a0<\/strong>We have been continuing with trying to improve the accuracy of our weight estimations and we learned how to read scales by closing looking at the intervals.<\/p>\n

Emma –<\/strong> With Miss Ross we took part in a scavenger hunt weight which challenged us to convert weights into grams and kilograms.<\/p>\n

Science<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Tia –\u00a0<\/strong>During our science lesson we discovered that shining light from a torch through coloured cellophane will change the colour of the light on the object in front.<\/p>\n

IDL \u2013 Fairtrade<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Zainab –\u00a0<\/strong>We have been learning about how Climate Change affects farmers and the impact it can have on their basic needs. Using this knowledge we then created mind maps summarising the key information.<\/p>\n

Clyde in the Classroom<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lewis –\u00a0<\/strong>We have all been given important jobs to help the trout eggs to develop. These include replacing the ice bottles, changing the water daily, removing eggs from the hatchery and recording the temperature.<\/p>\n
