Today marks the final day of Term 2. It has felt like a very quick term, filled with lots of achievements!

This week in P2b…

Rights Respecting Week

Our amazing Rights Respecting committee reps have been sharing the importance of the UNCRC this week. They even made announcements on the tannoy to share the right of the day with the whole school. We explored the Right to Play in our writing and discussed other rights that are respected at Crookfur. The class ended the week by designing their logos for the whole school Rughts Respecting logo competition. Everyone voted for the logos that met the success criteria and 3 were chosen. Well done to everyone for showcasing their creativity!

The Orangutan!

The class enjoyed trying out the new playground equipment. Everyone’s favourite was trying out the P3/4’s orangutan area.

Proud Moments of the Week

I hope you have a restful spring holiday and I look forward to seeing everyone in a couple of weeks as we begin our final term of P2!

This week P2b have continued to develop their knowledge and skills. However, we have had an extra special focus this week… World Book Day! This week’s blog will highlight everything we have been doing to spread the joy of reading.

Julia Donaldson

Each stage was asked to explore a different author this week. Primary 2’s author was Julia Donaldson. The learners have had lots of different opportunities to explore her lovely stories throughout the week, including our Julia Donaldson jigsaw project.

The Masked Reader

The learners have enjoyed watching two Masked Reader videos each day. They used the clues to try to work out who was behind each mask. Pop over to the Twitter page to see the videos!

P2 Reading Buddies

Some of the learners have the opportunity to take part in the P2/5 Reading Buddies programme this term. On Thursday, the Big Buddies planned a special session for World Book Day. The P2’s enjoyed hearing about the P5’s favourite books and listening to them read.

P7 Author Session

On Friday afternoon, we were invited to Mrs Allan’s class to hear some amazing books and stories that the P7 pupils created. Thank you to the P7’s and their teachers for all their hard work organising this special treat for the classes.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
