Welcome to the East Renfrewshire Educational Psychology Early Years CLPL modules
These modules have been developed for practitioners working in early years settings and are designed to increase the knowledge, understanding and skills of staff supporting children with additional support needs.
These modules will focus on supporting the language and social communication needs of young children.
There are a number of methods used during this training including self directed learning through online training, video and reading. You will have the opportunity to consolidate and develop your learning further by completing activities but we also encourage you to share your learning with colleagues through discussion points and group or peer activities.
In developing these modules we have pulled together years of learning, research and best practice from child development, education, educational psychology, speech and language therapy and occupational therapy to provide a comprehensive package of training for practitioners.
The training can be self directed by individuals or completed in small groups or whole settings. We hope that this flexible method will fit with the demands of an early years setting.
These modules will support the professional development and skills consolidation of all practitioners, however, in settings which are working towards a PANECAL accreditation, the staff team will be expected to demonstrate evidence of working through these modules.
We invite you to take notes, reflect on your learning and areas for development in your practice. There is a separate professional reflection and planning sheet for each module. Once completed your manager will discuss this with you and sign off to demonstrate that you have completed this module. All practitioners on completion of the modules will receive a certificate in recognition of their work.
Once you have completed the modules we invite you to evaluate your experience so we can continue to develop and improve the training. Once we have received your evaluation we will send you a certificate in recognition of your work in these modules.
