When mathematics,  technology and art combine!

During our ICT lessons, Primary One have worked incredibly hard to master lots of new skills this year. Recently, we have learned how to create artwork linked to Picasso and Piet Mondrian. Working on Word documents, we inserted  shapes and changed their colours and sizes to produce unique pieces of art. The children have also explored inserting WordArt to create headings and used online pictures to search for famous artists’ work.

     

Using the website Tate Paint https://www.tate.org.uk/kids/games/tate-paint,  the children have been able to investigate different artists and also develop their mouse control skills while creating pictures.

Inspired by these famous artists, the children then wanted to create their own artwork.

Working on their ability to copy and paste inserted shapes the children made excellent patterns.
