🖼️Art, Mathematics and Technology 💻

When technology, mathematics and art combine!

During our ICT lessons, Primary One have worked incredibly hard to master lots of new skills this year. Recently, we have learnt how to create artwork linked to Picasso and Piet Mondrian. Working on Word documents, we inserted shapes and changed their colours and sizes to produce unique pieces of art. The children have also explored inserting WordArt to create headings and used online pictures to search for famous artists’ work.

Using the website Tate Paint https://www.tate.org.uk/kids/games/tate-paint, the children have been able to investigate different artists and also develop their mouse control skills while creating pictures.

Inspired by these famous artists, the children then wanted to create their own artwork.

Linking with mathematic concepts such as directions and positional language, the children enjoyed drawing pictures by programming Beebot online using the website https://beebot.terrapinlogo.com/

The children have also worked on creating patterns using their skills of inserting shapes and changing colours.
