June😎

We’ve spent lots of time this month learning about β€˜Life in the Past.’

We had a great afternoon with lots of our grandparents. We learned how their childhood was different to ours. A huge thank you to each grandparent for taking the time to visit us.

We have really enjoyed learning to play Beetle Drive. We wrote instructions and enjoyed a game with our grandparents.

This month we revised what to do if we found a conscious casualty and learned how to help an unconscious casualty. We are all confident in checking for danger, clearing an airway, putting a casualty into the recovery position and calling 999 for emergency help.

A couple of Primary 6 pupils helped us to learn UNO! We love it 😍

Finally, we have spent some time in the big playground, learning what gate and path to use coming to school in Primary 3 and had fun playing with our friends on the pitch 🀩

Sports Day 🌞

Thank you to all our visitors for coming along and cheering us on at Sports Day today. We had a great time! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈβ€οΈπŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›

Solo Talks

A huge well done to everyone who did a solo talk in front of the class 🌟🌟🌟

You were all very clear and confident speakers, looked at your audience and answered questions from your classmates. I loved learning more about you, your life and your interests πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

February 2025

What a fast month February has been!

We continued to work on our gymnastic skills including work on the wall frame.

We had a great time visiting P3 for their fundraising event for the RSPB. There were lots of fun activities and competitions for us to participate in πŸ¦…πŸ¦œπŸ¦’

We have been learning about fractions. We can fold, cut, colour and identify shapes that have been split in half or into quarters. We really enjoyed showing off these skills during afternoon.

Thank you to all the adults who visited us. We always enjoy your visits and showing you what we’ve been up to ❀️

January 2025

Happy New Year!
Primary 2 have settled well in to our new learning. We’ve learned lots about Scotland and Robert Burns this month. We’ve made a fact file, participated in a scavenger hunt to gather facts about Robert Burns, made Scotland flags and tartan kilts and finally learned the bridge grip while cutting vegetables to make Scotch Broth. We rounded off our learning with our own wee Burns Day celebration. Thank you Jaxon for bringing in a box of lovely shortbread to share with everyone. I will also share our recital of The Sare Finger on Google Classroom 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Β

In Numeracy, we have all been learning about β€˜greater than’ and β€˜less than’ and using the symbols within a calculation.

In PE we have participated in gymnastics, learningΒ about balances, jumping in different positions and using various apparatus.

Finally, we’ve had lots of fun at Muddy Movers!

December

December has been a very busy month!
Thank you to all the children who brought in a favourite Christmas book wrapped up for under our Christmas tree, we have really enjoyed sharing all the books this month and also spending time reading books in our library cornerπŸŽ„πŸ“š

The lucky square game that we made for the Christmas fayre was a huge hit! We cut out all the squares and put them in a bag. Then Mrs MacDonald picked out the winning square. Congratulations to Caleb for picking the winning square.

I would also like to say a HUGE congratulations to all the children for putting on such a wonderful nativity performance, I think you’re all super stars 🌟

Harry and Lewis have been exploring symmetry with some of the construction blocks while Joel and Andrew have built amazingly detailed and tall towers with the Kapla. 🀩

On Tuesday Primary 4 came to visit us. We enjoyed listening to their snow globe adventure stories that they had written and we shared the books that we had made with them.

We have enjoyed making different Christmas crafts over the last couple of weeks too, including fingerprint Christmas trees, festive baubles and tree designing.

We have just finished off the year with a fun party and a visit from Santa πŸŽ…πŸ»

I hope you all now enjoy a restful and wonderful Β holiday and look forward to seeing you all back in January.

Merry Christmas!

November

Our highlight this month was definitely getting a visit from Santa’s reindeer. We loved feeding them carrots and getting to pet them. πŸ¦ŒπŸŽ…πŸ»

This week we also made fruit kebabs and then independently wrote a set of instructions.

A huge well done to all children who shared achievements this month. It’s always lovely to hear about your achievements outside of school 🌟

We finished off this week at our House Quiz, we were so proud to see one of our classmates being selected to play 🌟

Now we look forward to a very busy December with our very special Nativity performance. We look forward to seeing you all there. πŸŽ„

Halloween Spells

After reading Room on the Broom we decided to write our own spells. First of all we had to decide what the spell would make us do, lots of great ideas came from the children like making them fly, turning them invisible and glowing in the dark. Then we decided what ingredients would be needed to make the potion. Again we had some fantastic ideas, such as crushed bones, bat wings, slime, fireflies and blood! Finally, we wrote the instructions which concluded with a magical word. πŸ§™β€β™€οΈπŸͺ„πŸŽƒ

After writing our potions and spells we read them to the rest of the class and enjoyed carving a pumpkin which had been donated to our class from Abbie in Primary 7 πŸŽƒ
