Welcome back Primary 4 🌟

Welcome back Primary 4, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! πŸ₯³

Primary 4 had a fantastic visit from our P7 buddies, who came to teach us all about electricity and circuits! They showed us how to make simple circuits and even helped us try some hands-on activities. It was so much fun learning from our older friends, and we loved exploring how electricity works in a safe and exciting way. πŸ’‘

The Hexagons and Octagons maths groups have been working hard on 3D shapes! To make learning extra fun, they went on a scavenger hunt around the classroom to spot and identify lots of different 3D shapes. The children loved searching for shapes and showed great teamwork and enthusiasm while learning about cubes, cylinders, spheres, pyramids and more! πŸ”

The Hexagons and Octagons also took their learning outside! They went on the lookout for sticks and acorns to create their very own 3D shapes.

We then made our own 3D information shapes and nets posters!

The circles math group have been working on their fractions! We have also been creating our own fractions infographic posters, as well as some fraction robots! πŸ€–

Primary 4 have also been working really hard on their times tables and are becoming more confident and fluent every day! They have especially enjoyed racing to complete their times table flowers, competing with their teams to see who can finish first. It’s fantastic to see their determination, teamwork, and progress. Well done, Primary 4! πŸ’βœ–οΈ

We had a super time celebrating Burns Day with a fun writing activity! We watched the video Haggis and Neeps and took note of some interesting Scots language. Then we got creative and made our own bright and eye-catching Scots bubbles, writing a Scottish word and its meaning. We identified dreich, which means dull or damp. The children loved learning new words and showing off their colourful designs! πŸ’™

Children channelled their inner Robert Burns and got creative with some tartan silhouette art! The children designed their own colourful silhouettes to celebrate the famous Scottish poet, showing off their imagination and artistic skills. πŸŽ¨πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ¨

Children had a blast challenging themselves with a grammar race! We had to spot and circle all the adjectives on the board, and the team that finished first won. The children loved racing against each other while practising their grammar skills and showing off their quick thinking! πŸ’πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

Great start to Term 2 so far Primary 4! πŸ˜ƒ
