We have been learning about the Jewish festival Sukkot. We learned that a sukkah is a hut that is built for the week-long festival where Jewish families gather to eat, pray and spend time together and some even sleep inside their sukkah. The roof of the sukkah is topped with branches and inside is decorated with harvest or autumnal themes. Jewish families celebrate Sukkot in remembrance to their ancestors, who were freed from slavery in Egypt. (ARTICLE 24 and 30)
Zak had a great idea to build a sukkah during Muddy Movers. We all helped make paper chains and autumnal leaf mobiles to decorate inside. 🍁 🍂 🍃
