World Book Day!

On World Book Day we created a PowerPoint about our favourite book. We have outlined a summary of what the book is about , included character descriptions  and explained why it is our favourite book.

In the afternoon we then had the chance to choose a book related activity. We had the choice of completing a book review, creating our own book, designing a new character or being an illustrator for a book. We all made our own decision and worked hard to try to finish them. We got to take them home as well.

Electricity Hunt!

We have an  Experience and Outcome that is all about electricity. We discovered that electricity powers a lot of different things and in particular it creates  heat, light sound and movement energy. We put on our Hi Viz vests and went on a hunt for electricity sources that produce all the different types of energy. We were very successful. We looked very official.

SEWING!

We have an Experience and Outcome which encourages us to learn the skill of sewing. We had to create and cut a felt template of a little Bug to begin with. Next we then had to sew the Bug top on the bottom so that we could stuff it. We used a needle and thread to stitch around the edges. Some of us found this a challenge but in the end we persevered with a little teamwork and we are proud of our creations!

Mandarin

Primary 4 have been learning Mandarin this term and having a great time. We have been learning numbers and all about the New Year. We have been writing symbols and signing songs.

Climate Zones!

We have been learning about climate zones. We have looked at a lot of different climate zones around the world. We have discussed the idea of how can we can measure the climate. We came up with the idea of making our own rain gauges. We are worried that they may blow away but we have put  them outside! We will check on them regularly and measure  how much rainfall there will be over the coming weeks.
