Fun with fractions!
We have been looking at Agriculture in Scotland this term. We learned about the journey of wheat and we found out that wheat is a key ingredient of bread. We decided to make our own bread. We measured out all the ingredients and made our own dough. We then cooked it in the oven. It wad messy but good fun! The best bit was we all got to eat our own handmade warm bread just out the oven. How good do these look?
We have been having fun in our group with secret spelling! We used crayons and markers to make our words magically appear. (ARTICLE 28)
We have created some beautiful Christmas Tree decorations for the Christmas Fayre. They will be for sale on Saturday 4th December! (ARTICLE 31)
We have been learning how to write instructions within our writing lessons. We are making sure that we include a ‘you will need’ list and that our instructions are clear and easy to follow. We made cucumber sandwiches to help us get the right order. We even ate them afterwards😋
On Friday afternoon we all got to go down the the gym hall to watch a theatre company perform the pantomime Sleeping Beauty! We had great fun booing and hissing the evil Queen Maleficent and cheering for the Woodcutter and Aurora. We had a few sing songs too.

In Maths we have been learning to add and subtract and identify the missing number in a calculation. We have had a lot of fun consolidating our learning!
In Art we having been learning about the famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough. We studied his painting called Wheatfields Under Thunderclouds. We used shades and tints to create our own version. We also had to mix colours. What do you think?
It is early for Christmas cards but we have to make them now so they can be sent off to make real cards. We worked so hard on drawing our elves and then personalising them. Here are photos of our Awesome Elves!
We have had a focus on symmetry during maths week. We went outside to try to create symmetry using natural materials. The wind caused a little bit of a problem but we were still successful. We then came instead to create summetry using lego. Here are our creations!
