INSTRUCTIONS!

We have been learning how to write instructions within our writing lessons. We are making sure that we include a ‘you will need’ list and that our instructions are clear and easy to follow. We made cucumber sandwiches to help us get the right order. We even ate them afterwards😋

Sleeping Beauty!

On Friday afternoon we all got to go down the the gym hall to watch a theatre company perform the pantomime Sleeping Beauty! We had great fun  booing and hissing the evil Queen Maleficent and cheering for the Woodcutter and Aurora. We had a few sing songs too.

Art

In Art we having been learning about the famous Dutch painter Vincent Van Gough. We studied his painting called Wheatfields Under Thunderclouds. We used shades and tints to create our own version. We also had to mix colours. What do you think?

Elf Cards!

It is early for Christmas cards but we have to make them now so they can be sent off to make real cards. We worked so hard on drawing our elves and then personalising them. Here are photos of our Awesome Elves!

Symmetry!

We have had a focus on symmetry during maths week. We went outside to try to create symmetry using natural materials. The wind caused a little bit of a problem but we were still successful. We then came instead to create summetry using lego. Here are our creations!

Open Afternoon!

It was lovely to see so many visitors in our classroom for the Open Afternoon. The children enjoyed working with our guests to create some brilliant islands for Katie Morag to travel round. They were also very excited to sing their song and they performed it so well!

Primary 3!

We are getting used to the big move round the corridor to Primary 3. In Maths we have been learning our multiplication tables and have been using cubes to help us. We have been discovering interesting facts about bees and we have made  factctfiles about them.  In Art we have been studying famous artists and trying out the job of being an illustrator for the Paddington books. As yet we can not have our faces on the blog so here is some of our work on the walls!

Art

Our first art lesson in primary 3 was inspired by a famous artist called Wassily Kandinsky.  We looked at his painting with squares with concentric circles and talked about shape and colour. We then created our own version using oil pastels!
