Locating rainforests

As part of our rainforest topic we have been using maps and atlases to locate the rainforests around the world. We can identify the equator, an imaginary line around the planet, where many of the rainforest lie due to the hot climate here. We also learned about the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer and highlighted these on our maps. We have enjoyed reading the rainforest books which have been added to our class library this term. πŸŒ²πŸƒΒ  (ARTICLE 28)

Welcome

Hello and welcome to our Primary 4 blog. Here you will find photos and information about what we have been learning in school.✏️

Below is a photo of everyone looking very smart on our first day in Primary 4. πŸ“Έ

We have settled into school well after a relaxing summer holiday and are glad to be back to normal school routines and seeing our friends and teachers everyday. ☺️

Our PE day is on a Friday and PE kits can now be worn to school on this day. Spelling, reading and mental maths homework are issued every Monday and due on Friday. πŸ“šπŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

We enjoyed hearing about one another’s summer holiday and writing about them using descriptive vocabulary. β˜€οΈ

We made these all about me posters during our P4 taster day with Miss Aslam. We shared information about ourselves, our favourite things and our families.πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦

We worked together to make a class charter as part of our Rights Respecting School Status. We chose 6 rights from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and voted on a theme. The most popular theme was pokemon. πŸ‘Ή

Keep an eye on our blog to see more of what we learn and get up to in Primary 4.πŸ™‚

Jubilee Open Afternoon!

Our Open Afternoon was themed for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We had to make a crown, decorate a biscuit, find out information about the queen and play games from the 1940’s. Our parents got to be a king or queen Β for the day as they were given a crown to wear. We loved having our parents back in the school.

The Journey of Wheat!

We have been looking at Agriculture in Scotland this term. We learned about the journey of wheat and we found out that wheat is a key ingredient of bread. We decided to make our own bread. We measured out all the ingredients and made our own dough. We then cooked it in the oven. It wad messy but good fun! The best bit was we all got to eat our own handmade warm bread just out the oven. How good do these look?
