November in Primary 3/1 ๐Ÿงจ๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡

We have been very busy in P3!

HEALTHY EATING

We had a tasty time when we made fruit kebabs.ย  We had to think very carefully about hand hygiene and the importance of making good choices when eating snacks.ย  They tasted lovely!

REMEMBER, REMEMBER THE 5th of NOVEMBER!

We learned about the importance of bonfire and firework safety and had some great discussions about what to do in an emergency.ย  We then created wonderful firework pictures.

MEASURING IN MATHS

We have been learning about grams and kilograms and had lots of fun comparing the weight of objects.

Maths Week Scotland 2021

We’ve had a brilliant week thinking about how important maths is.ย  We use maths all the time! We decided to take our learning outdoors and used our environment for symmetry and data handling challenges.ย  We had lots of fun and we talked all the time about what we were doing and what we discovered!

ย

ย

ย  ย

We worked on symmetry back in the classroom too ๐Ÿ™‚

Venn Diagrams and Carroll Diagrams – great understanding and excellent teamwork!

Fractions – Can you cut a wrap into 2 equal parts to make halves?ย  Can you make quarters?ย  How many parts will you have?ย  So many questions during our fractions activity.ย  The wraps tasted great with jam and honey.ย  A lovely, wee treat after working so hard!

ย  ย ย

Length – Our challenge was to create an item which measured exactly 50cm.ย  This was great fun and quite challenging!ย  Three groups managed to make their items measure exactly 50cm ๐Ÿ™‚

Primary 3 Science

We have been having great fun learning about Space this term.

We learned about the planets, the sun and the moon.ย  We have discussed why we have different seasons on earth.ย  We made models to demonstrate that the earth spins around the sun and the moon orbits the earth.ย  We also investigated how the moon reflects the suns light using a torch as the sunlight.ย  ย We have decided that we want to learn about astronauts and the international space station next.ย  Have a look at our learning so far!

September in Primary 3/1

Hello Everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š

We have all really enjoyed lots of great activities since coming back to schoolย  in August!

We have been very busy thinking about the rights of children and then we went on to create our own class charter based on what was important to us.ย  It looks fantastic!

We have also been studying the artist, Steven Brown.ย  We created our own animal pictures using paint and pastel.ย  We thought about line, colour and texture and had lots of fun making them.

ย  ย

ย

ย

We created a jigsaw on our wall.ย  This was to show how unique we all are.ย  This is now a word we use all the time!ย  It has been lovely to celebrate all our individual strengths and qualities.

WE ARE PRIMARY 3, EACH ONE OF US UNIQUE AND WHEN WE GET TOGETHER, THE PUZZLE IS COMPLETE!

In Literacy, we have been learning about common nouns and proper nouns.

We can’t wait for some more fun learning in October!

Here is some lovely pictures if our last week of fun.

Sports Day

We had so much fun at sports day, we all got to take part in different activities and win lots of points for our house teams.

Now and Then ๐Ÿ”Ž๐Ÿ“–

We have been comparing life in the past with how we live now.
We have looked at old artifacts, games, school life and a day in the life of a child from the past. ๐Ÿ“ป๐Ÿ“บโ˜Ž๏ธ
The children got to play some games that were played with in past such as marbles, cards, dominos and hoops. ๐Ÿงธ

Using the VR headsets the children were able to look at an olden day classroom as if they were they.
They were able to see the desks, way the children learnt and compare it to how they learn now. ย ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿงฎ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿซ

We also got to do some planting today linked to out Science topic of “Living and non-living things”. We all learnt what it means to be living and the important things that living items need – fresh air, food and water. ๐Ÿƒ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’

We had so much fun creating our little bunny plant pots and then filling them with soil and bulbs.
I know i cant wait to see how these flowers turn out. ๐ŸŒบ
