We have been learning about the importance of water and how to clean water. We collected dirty water and made predictions about how we would clean the water using household materials. We identified that a combination of filter paper, cloths and sieves cleaned the water the best, but we still would not drink it!

Primary 6 have been learning about pneumatics and created their own Christmas themed design. They worked well together to open and close the lid of their box using air pressure.

On Thursday last week we had a special visit from the Elves and Reindeer!

P6 have been learning about light and shadows. They made shadow puppets to block the light from the screen and create a short story based on well known stories.

Primary 6 have started to learn about the 7 Elements of Art. Everyone created a piece of artwork displaying all 7 elements.
We had a whole focus on the element of Line where we all experimented drawing different types of lines. Some of us had a go at “taking a line for a walk” inspired by the artist Paul Klee where we completed a continuous line drawing without lifting our pen from the page.

Yesterday we enjoyed a great trip to the Glasgow Science Centre. We had been preparing in advance for our visit by learning about body systems and we got to learn more about the the vital organs of the body during the theatre show. We also had lots of time to explore the three floors of the Science Centre and to try out lots of fun activities. Below is a little sample of the things we got up to.

We are now into June and in the final weeks of term. It is hard to believe how quickly the year has gone. Everyone has been working really hard and we have made great progress. We will keep working hard right up to our final day of Primary 5.
Today P5 had their first Bikeability session in the playground. We performed our M Check on the bikes, checked our safety helmets and began learning new cycling skills including turning safely for left and right turns. We also practised our balance skills with the slalom and the slow race.
