We have been developing our gross motor skills, working together with our friends and exploring maths in real life contexts, all while playing outside in the school garden!
Some children found insects in the grass where they were building a slide so decided to relocate them to a safer place.
Today we have been learning about the sound ‘g’ so we made hand puppets of the Gruffalo then acted out the story.
We were then practising counting to 20 and making a human number line.
We we have been learning about different artists and decided to create a splatter painting in the style of Jackson Pollok.
As a class Primary 1 decided they wanted to learn more about super heroes and their super powers.
To to start with we had to make a super hero head quarters and a super hero car.

It has been excellent having Primary 5 help us settle into life in Primary 1.
We have been to visit our buddies in their classroom and invited them to see us in our class.
When we went to ICT our buddies came with us to help us get logged on and practise using the mouse.
It has been a busy week in Primary 1. Everyone has been settling into school life and working very hard at their tasks. I can’t wait to see what the next year is going to bring!
