Viking jewellery

Following on from our lesson on Viking clothing, we learned about the popularity of jewellery and its role in showing a person’s status and wealth during the Viking times. The more intricate and detailed, the wealthier the wearer. We made our own Viking jewellery using pasta, cardboard, tin foil, string and paint. Some of us challenged ourselves to create a pattern in Elder Futhark Runes, the viking alphabet. We love how these turned out. Have a look at the step by step photos below. 💎

Christmas Crafts

We had a great afternoon making hot chocolate reindeer cones for our Christmas craft this year. These were really simple yet fun to make. ☕️🔴

We used the following resources:

  • Clear cone bags
  • Red pom poms
  • Brown pipe cleaners
  • Googly eyes
  • Hot chocolate
  • Mini marshmallows

We also decorated Christmas bags for our crafts whilst listening to Christmas music. 🎄🎶

3D Model Making

Primary 2 have been busy using different materials to construct a 3D model of an area within Barrhead. We are using our knowledge of Barrhead and google maps to identify what we should include in our model. We have been learning to work in small groups and share out responsibilities.
