Primary 2

We have had a busy few weeks in Primary 2. We used chrome books to explore our local area. Pupils used google maps to find their street and different buildings within Barrhead. We discussed the different types of houses.

“A terraced house is in a row.”- Rory

“A detached house sits alone.”-

May “A semi-detached house has one neighbour.” –

Brayden “Flats have lot’s of neighbours.”- Isla

James- “we looked at our houses on the chrome books on google maps.”

Bees and Bug Hotels

We have had an exciting couple of days in our last week of Primary 1. We have been finding out information about bees and tasted honey. May- “the queen bee lays the eggs”. Braydon- “the worker bees collect the honey”. Lucy- “the honeybees do a dance when they find flowers”. Rory- “bees make honey”.

Today we went on a hunt to find bees and other insects. We found many in our garden area. We designed and built our own bug hotels.

We have been learning…

We have been learning about living and non-living things. As part of our topic we cared for caterpillars. We are pleased to report that they turned into butterflies. Yesterday we released our butterflies into the school grounds.

Kung-Fu Maths

Primary 1 have been exploring the language of addition and subtraction. To help us remember which words mean add and which words mean subtract we have been doing Kung-Fu maths.

Learning about Adjectives 🤔

This week we have been learning about adjectives. These words are great and make our writing more exciting!

We brought a toy in from home and described it to our friends. Well done everyone! Your adjectives were brilliant!
