A huge thank you to everyone who attended our open afternoon. We have gathered lots of information about life in the past from our visitor questionnaires.

We have been learning to link addition and subtraction facts. Pupils picked two playing cards or rolled two dice and added the numbers together. They made another addition fact and two subtraction facts using the same three numbers to form a fact family.
Today we used the chrome books to document what primary 2 have learned about Robert Burns. We created a class jam board and each pupil added an online sticky note with something they now know about Robert Burns. To access the Jam board login to google classroom and follow the link.
We had great fun making cock-a-leakie soup for Burns Day. We listed the ingredients we needed and got out the correct tools.
We all took turns peeling, chopping, pouring and mixing the ingredients to make a delicious soup.
Welcome back Primary 2! During free the boys girls explored the different resources.
Rory and Emaline made a tower using wooden blocks. Rory- “it is less than a metre tall.” Emaline- “its taller than the size of ruler.”
The boys and girls have enjoyed creating their own PowerPoints in ICT.
They learned how to create a new slide, add text and insert pictures. They then animated their own slides to make it look exciting.
The pupils then took on the role as a mini teacher and stood up and showed their own PowerPoints to the rest of their friends on the big whiteboard in the classroom.
Primary 2 had a busy morning using construction to make a sleigh for Santa. They chose to work independently or in pairs. Pupils used their whiteboards to plan what their model would look like. Every sleigh was different and all pupils passed the design brief. Have a fantastic Christmas P2!
Primary 2/2 had lots of fun writing instructions for making toast. They used lots of bossy verbs and made sure their instrcutions were clear and helpful.
They then had to follow the instructions carefully and make their own toast. Yum!!
Today in Primary 2 we had lots of fun making our own Christmas tree. We worked collaboratively to order boxes from largest to smallest. Connor-“the widest box goes at the bottom so it takes the weight of the ones on top”. Finn- “if the smallest box was on the bottom they would all topple over”. We worked in groups to paint the boxes green. Pupils created their own decorations and loved sticking them onto our tree.
Primary 2 have been learning to count on and back in tens from any given number. To show our learning we picked a lotto ball and used play dough to create a number sequence.
