P7 have been learning about the digestive system through a demonstration.
First, chew the bread.
Second into the stomach and stomach acid.
Third into the intestines.

P7 are going to the Science Centre in Glasgow today to learn about renewable energy. There is a lab visit and a walk around the museum!
The children in P7 have been learning about buoyancy. They have learned that it’s not the weight that affects the buoyancy of an object, but the density of the material it’s made of, the shape of the boat and the amount of air that is inside the vessel. We made boats and tested how many marbles that they can hold.
We used chalk and black card along with a stencil to create this art. The search lights make it look real!
P7 are visiting the high school this afternoon for a science transition. We got to see a biology lesson and investigated our heart rate.&
Today P6 looked at the visible and non visible light spectrum. We split the spectrum using a prism and created white light with the 3 colours red, blue and green.
Children have been learning about reflection and refraction. They have learned that refraction is the bending of light as it moves into another medium like water. Reflection is when light bounces off an object. We utilised this to make periscopes! A link to our WW2 topic.
Look at our plants go! Our tomato plants have been growing well and the summer sun has helped. We were wondering if they were getting enough light?
