Paramedics Visit – 29th November

What a brilliant time we had this morning!

Three paramedics arrived to tell us all about their job.  We had a quiz with Garron, learned lots of important information, including the recovery position with Pamela, and Amy showed us her ambulance! It was fantastic!

Thank you so much for spending the morning with us! 😁🚑

Vet Visit – 27th November

Today we were very lucky to have a visit from a Vet from Craigpark Veterinary Centre, Ralston Road, Barrhead.

Shona told us lots of interesting things about how she helps animals and people who are worried about their pets if they are unwell.

We learned how to take a dog’s temperature, how microchips work, how to examine an animal’s eye or ear, and why dogs have to wear plastic collars.

Then we learned how to put a bandage on an injured dog!

And how to listen to a dog’s heartbeat!

Finally, we were very surprised when Shona introduced us to her lovely dog, Coo.  She was very friendly and showed us some of her fancy tricks!

Thank you Shona.  We had a great time with you and Coo! 🙂

Our Walk to the Barrhead Foundry

This morning we set off on our walk to Barrhead Foundry.

On the way, we saw lots of places where you would find people to help you.  We talked about these different places as part of our topic on ‘People Who Help Us’.

People to help you get a job…

People to help you go on a train journey…

People to help you if you have a car problem…

People who can help you learn if you are very little…

People who can help you with lots of things where you live…

Mary’s Meals – We helped this charity by collecting items for children in Africa.  The charity are always helping others….

People who help you to stay healthy….

Healthy Teeth

We have had a great morning in P1/2!

We made some fantastic posters about keeping our teeth healthy.  Then we went to visit Primary 3 to share our posters with them.  We spoke clearly and asked the children questions about what they had learned.  Whilst we were there, we got a surprise as one of the boys from Primary 3 had a wobbly tooth and it fell out!

A busy week in P1/2

We’ve had a busy week in Primary 1/2.  Congratulations on achieving your yellow stripe!

Well done to on being awarded a Head Teacher certificate for your outstanding skills in football!

We’ve had a great time building dens and dressing up in our new outfits which were very kindly donated by one of our parents.  Thank you!

The Cross Arthurlie Health Centre opened on Monday morning and it’s been very, very busy!  There have been lots of patients waiting to see our kind and caring Doctors and Nurses.

We’ve been very busy blending sounds together to make words and our letter formation is looking good.

Outdoor Art

SPLATTER PAINTING 🙂

We were inspired by the famous artist, Jackson Pollock, and decided to take our art lesson outdoors.

We used thick paintbrushes and  thick paint.  We splattered  the paint onto our big pieces of paper.  We were very glad that we decided to wear our outdoor gear!!

The finished paintings are fabulous!

ART AREA in P1/2

Our Art Area is always busy and creative!  We decide on the resources we need and use our imaginations to create lots of different and unusual items.  Thank you to all the families who regularly donate items for us to use.  This is very much appreciated!
