Science – Our Air
As part of our preparation for our visit to the Science Centre on the 14th of June we have been learning about ‘Our Air’. We explored the human body’s defence mechanism for protecting the nose from small particles of matter in the air around us (for example sand, dust). We used our sticky ping pong bats to represent mucus in our noses and the tissue paper as particles in our air, we caught the air particles from going into our lungs (the floor) by catching them with our bats (mucus).
Enterprise
For our Enterprise project we created a product that was locally sourced. We did this as we have been learning about air pollution and understand the importance of buying produced that haven’t had to travel from a far away country. In groups we thought about the product we could make, then we researched the ingrediencies needed and made sure we could buy them within the UK. We then created a product name, picture and UPS (unique selling point). Finally, in our groups we presented our product in front of the class, we created a mini advert and received feedback about our product. We loved this project so much!
Music
Mrs Carey came to visit us and we got to work in a groups to compose a four beat rhythm pattern, using the beats ta, tete, tiri tiri / tiri te / te tiri. We used claves to create out beat, other groups then had to guess which beats we had used. We were super good at this!
