Good morning! How are you all?
We only have today and tomorrow together on line and then we will be having our 2 week Easter break.

Here are some tasks for today:

Literacy
Task 1
Writing – make a card for a neighbour to bring them some cheer while we are all staying at home. If it is safe to do so then please post it through their letterbox. Remember to wash your hands as soon as you get back home.
Please include:
– To ….
– Write a kind sentence inside which will cheer your neighbour up. Some examples:
I am looking forward to chatting with you and seeing your smiley face again soon.
I miss seeing you every day and telling you what I’ve been doing.
I can’t wait to visit you soon.
I am really looking forward to having a party with all my neighbours soon.

Task 2
Spelling – look carefully at your spelling words, think about the sounds and blends in each word. Now cover them up and now ask an adult to call 1 word out at a time and see if you can spell the word they call out. How many did you get right?

Task 2
Measure – Choose five objects in your house and measure them. If you don’t have a ruler you can use different objects to measure with. For example, my Harry Potter book is the same length and 10 Lego pieces.
Please tell me what you measured and what you measured with. If you use a ruler remember to use centimetres (cm). Can you talk about your measurements using longer, shorter, the same as?

Good morning Primary 2! Hope you all manged outside for some fresh air yesterday and I’m hoping for more dry weather today.

Literacy

Task 1
Write out second 5 words three time into red or orange spelling jotter – remember to copy, cover, write and check
Task 2
Write two sentences in your spelling jotter using spelling words in each sentence
Task 3
Verbs – please find this in ‘Classwork’ tab under Literacy in our Google Classroom.  Remember to click on ‘Submit’ once you have completed this assignment.

Task 1

Adult ask child to splat 2 more than, 2 less than, the number before and the number after a given number. For example:
Adult: ‘splat the number 2 less than 39’ or ‘paint the number after 99’

Happy Monday morning! Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for some more online learning today. I really enjoyed playing football, catch and doing chalk ground drawings with my girls this weekend in our sunny garden. What did you do?

If you would like a little change from Joe Wicks PE class then try Cosmic Kids Yoga this week. There are lots of themes to choose from but Frozen and Pokemon are favourites with my girls. You can find all the Cosmic Kids Yoga adventures on You Tube.

The symbol that is missing is it + or – ? Let’s work it out… 10 + 8 = 18 so it isn’t an add calculation. 10 – 8 = 2 yes! It is a take away calculation so the missing symbol is –

Writing – write a letter to a family member that you have not seen this week. Explain why you are missing them and tell them at least 1 thing that you have enjoyed doing this week. Remember to write your address at top right of paper and date your letter. If you’re able  send it in the post or take a photo and email it or you could try typing your letter to email. If not keep it in a folder to give to them when you next see them.

I hope your legs are feeling stronger than mine, after 3 Joe Wicks lessons they definitely feel a bit like jelly!

Here are your tasks for today. Although please remember to get some fresh air, in your garden if possible, and maybe you could build a reading den today? Snuggle up with your favourite bear, read him a story and enjoy a healthy snack.
