Make £5 Grow!💰

Every class in the school visited the Primary 7/1 classroom as part of their ‘Make £5 Grow’ project. Each group did an amazing job creating a product and as advertising it. The sale was a roaring success with every group selling out by the end of the day!

Learning labs

Today Primary 7 visited Glasgow Science Centre where they took part in a workshop in one of their labs. In the workshop, the pupils learnt more about renewable energy and managed to build their own electrical circuits, well done Primary 7!

Welcome to Primary 7!

Our first week of Primary 7 started with a big catch up and a discussion about what we want our class to look, feel and sound like.

Next, we completed some STEM challenges and learnt about density through an experiment. Everyone was able to conduct a fair and accurate experiment, making predictions and interpreting the results.

The pupils then started their house captain campaigns, creating posters and writing speeches to persuade voters ahead of the next house meeting.

School Trip!

Yesterday, Primary 5 went on a trip to Glasgow Science Centre. There they took part in a workshop all about our climate and saw how different chemicals react to change the temperature in our atmosphere. The children also explored all of the wonderful exhibitions the Science Centre has to offer.

Bike Ability :)

Last week Primary 5 took part in Bike Ability Level 1. The pupils learnt to take off and stop safely, as well as how to turn corners, and ride one handed. Everyone also carried out the ‘M check’ on their bikes to make sure they were safe to ride, well done Primary 5!

Den Building!

Yesterday, Primary 5 were taking part in outdoor learning, where they were given the task of building a den that would shield them from the elements. The pupils worked hard in their groups to create a structure that would meet the requirements, well done Primary 5!

Sustainable Snacks!

This term Primary 5 have been learning about sustainability. The pupils found out where different foods come from and the carbon footprint they create because of this. They have also learned about air pollution and how it can affect us.

Following this, the pupils came up with their own sustainable snacks, made with local ingredients. In their groups, they developed their products, coming up with unique selling points and appealing adverts. The children then presented their products to the rest of the class and received feedback from their audience, well done Primary 5!
