We hope you are enjoying the Blog.  There will be more to come next session as the Blog follows the class through their time at Cross Arthurlie.

We had a fantastic time on our class trip to Summerlee. Thank you to Mrs Carr, Mrs Byars and Mrs Reid for coming along and looking after us.

Primary 2/2 have been enjoying learning Mandarin with Miss Wang. We have been learning how to say hello, goodbye and I love mum and dad. We were exited to wear traditional hats that princes and princesses wear in China.

We have also been learning about Fairytales. We have been reading lots of different stories and wrote our own which we shared with the class. In drama we played a hot seating game testing our knowledge of fairytale characters.

We are very lucky to have a sensory garden we have loved exploring and enjoying in the lovely weather.

Primary 2/2 hope you all had a great Easter holiday.

Before the Easter holiday we got up to some Easter fun….

We created and designed our own Easter eggs on the computer during ICT.

In class we had a big Easter egg hunt in teams.

This week in Science we have been learning about living and non living things. We enjoyed placing things into categories.

We have also been learning about life cycles this week. We have focussed on butterflies and look forward to learning about the frog life cycle.

A huge Thank You from all of p2/2  to all those who came to see our Nativity this morning!

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did performing it.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us!

In maths we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We have been creating patterns and pictures using shapes.

For literacy we have been working on our tricky words, capital letters and full stops.

In social studies we have been learning about our local area. We went on a local walk and created a map that we then used to create a 3D model of our local area.

We we have also been working really hard on our Nativity play and look forward to seeing you all there!

In maths we have been learning to measure in centimetres using a ruler. We went on a class hunt finding objects that were of certain measurements.

In maths we have been applying our problem solving skills to create buildings from a picture using building blocks. 

Lucy from the NHS came to talk to us about how to brush our teeth properly and what foods are bad for our teeth.

In science we have been discovering what substances melt ice!

We discovered salt worked best!

It was great to see so many of the P2/2 class at the Halloween Disco last night.
