P3: Mandarin 🇨🇳🎏🧧

In Term 2 we have started our block of Mandarin lessons. We are learning how to recognise and say new vocabulary. We also learning how to explore and investigate cultures different to our own. We had great fun with Mrs Qiu. She taught us all about her life as a teacher in China. She taught us the morning exercise routine that her whole school does every day in China. She also told us that she has 40 kids in her class in China! Mrs  McMillan is happy with 20 ☺️
Mrs Qiu had an amazing hat which was a panda! Sometimes “Panpan” will teach us new words in Mandarin. We impressed her with what we already know. We know how to say hello, goodbye, how are you, I am good and Mrs McMillan all in Mandarin! We are looking forward to next weeks lesson. Lessons are every Thursday after lunch until April break. 🇨🇳🌏🐼

P3: Sumdog 🐶🐩🐕

This week we logged into Sumdog for the first time. Sumdog is a secure educational website. Using their personal logins, the children can answer questions to gain coins and access different areas of the website.  The website tracks their answer pace and score to generation questions of a suitable level. Your child’s login does not include their real name to ensure they are protected for GPDR. The children have their logins in their bags to take home should you wish to play at home. It is also an app on tablets or phones ☺️. We are looking forward to competing in the next Sumdog Challenge!

P3: Ornaments 🎄✨⭐️

We are  learning how to design and create! We are also learning how to change a substance from one product into a different product! We mixed flour, salt and water to make salt dough. We worked in group to create the mixture. Next we used the Christmas cutters to make different shapes to put on a Christmas Tree 🎄. We had to make a neat hole for the ribbon to go through. Mrs McMillan took the shapes home and baked them for 3 hours until they were hard. When they were ready we painted them so that they were ready to go home.  Hopefully we will remember these as special P3 treasures in years to come! Thank you to Abby, Keira and Darcey who helped put all the ribbons through so that they were ready to go home today! Team work, dream work! The Christmas spirit is in full swing in P3/2!👏🏼✨🎄⭐️

P.s sorry Mums and Dads if your Christmas tree just lost a little sophistication but I can assure you a lot of smiles were put into that decoration 😅🙈

P3: Panto ✨🎄🎭

Its the most wonderful time of the year! We had such a special day out at our Pantomime Prize! We loved shouting and dancing and singing and booing and cheering! When we got back to school we wrote fan mail to the cast! They have been delivered so fingers crossed for a reply! Best day ever!

P3: Trip 🚌🚎🎪

We are all set for Monday’s trip! I told the children today that they must wear their school uniforms but can wear a wee Christmas extra too, to help get us in the Christmas spirit! For example, a Santa hat or a Christmas head band or sparkly tights! Please make sure the people sitting behind us will still be able to see the show efficiently 😂.

Robbie, Zack and Danni were not in today; if you are reading this and are able to message their family, please pass this on to them so that they too know they can wear something Christmassy. 🎄✨🤶🏻

The bus is leaving at 09:10 ☺️ Happy weekend! Yay!

P3: Christmas Show 🎅🏽🎄🤶🏻

Behind the scenes of our Christmas Show! Thank you so much to everyone who came to watch us in the Christmas Concert! Don’t you think we were just amazing?! We worked so hard to learn our lines by heart and to sing and perform so well! Go, team!

Will need to get a photo of Declan and Jack who were also fab in the afternoon show!! ✨⭐️🎄

P3: Trip 🚌🚎🚙

A gentle reminder to please return both consent forms tomorrow if you haven’t done so already in preparation for our class trip on Monday. Thanks so much! I hope your Election Day has ran smoothly and I look forward to a normal Friday tomorrow.  ☺️✨🎭

P3: Drama 🎭🎪👏🏼

We are learning how to perform specific genres in Drama. Today we practised the genre of Pantomime! We reflected on our panto workshop from last week and identified the key elements of a pantomime and  what makes it different from other performances.

We recapped the story of Cinderella before performing a section of the story in panto style! We had to try not to laugh when the audience was booing or shouting out! We also had to ask the audience questions to get them involved. Sometimes we even had to make up lines on the spot to make it more entertaining! The boys also took on the character of girl roles in true panto dame style! Well done, everyone! I think we are ready for our Pantomime trip now! ☺️✨🎭 Have to say that Abby has us all in stitches with her comedy timing 😂
