P1: More May fun!

We had great fun with mallets and bamboo canes when we tried to build a jungle den.

We have been learning about the life cycle of a flowering plant.  We decided to grow sunflowers and have now planted  seeds.

P1: MARCH 2018

SPRING HUNT

We went for a walk around the school.  We looked for signs of Spring and made notes on our clipboards.

EASTER CRAFTS

We listened to a lovely story called ‘Rechenka’s Eggs’ by Patricia Polacco.  We created our own patterned eggs using oil pastels and coloured paper.  We looked at the patterns on the eggs Rechenka laid and used some of her designs.

HEALTHY EATING

We have been learning about the importance of making healthy choices with what we eat.  We know that fruit is good for us so we decided to make a fruit salad.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR LOVELY PARENTS FOR THE FRUIT DONATIONS!

Lots of washing, chopping and peeling.  We were exhausted! 🙂

The tasting was the best part!

HAPPY EASTER everyone!

P1: January in P1/2

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS FROM HOME

The children in Primary 1/2 love to share their achievements with their friends.  Well done!

SPACE TOPIC

We have been talking about what might be on the MOON.  Lots of us think there must be aliens up there!  We read ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ and decided to create our own aliens.  They look great!

MUDDY MOVERS

We have been  using crates, pallets and planks of wood outdoors to create obstacle courses. We have been developing our balancing skills.  We have also had great fun in the mud kitchen!

CELEBRATING THE BIRTHDAY OF ROBERT BURNS

What a great day we had on the 25th of January!  We tried Scottish oatcakes, cheese, shortbread and tablet.  Delicious!  We listened to the bagpipes and then learned a Scottish dance.  This was followed by some wonderful art work.

TEAM WORK WITH OUR NEW RESOURCES

We love playing with our new giant wooden blocks.  We can create great structures and always try to work as a team.

P1: More November News!

THE ELF NAMING COMPETITITION!

Primary 1 organised a competition to find a name for an Elf.

It was 20p a guess and the name was pulled out of the guessing box at school assembly on Wednesday (30.11.17).

Rio from p1/2 was the lucky winner!  He wanted the Elf to be called Nobby.

Well done Rio!

P1: OCTOBER in P1/2

We have had great fun in P1/2 this October!

We loved making different flavours of jelly when we were learning the ‘j’ sound.

We loved Outdoor Classroom Day when we out outside and found lots of things to measure.  We took everything back into the classroom to find out how long they were.

In Science, we helped Discovery Dog find the bounciest ball for Naughty Nora.  We had great fun trying out all the different balls!

The winners…..
