P3: Food Chains πŸŒΏπŸ›πŸΉπŸ¦‰

In Science we are learning how to create and identify food chains.πŸŽ‹πŸΌ

We have been learning how to sort animals into what they eat and if they are a herbivore, carnivore or omnivore. Β Now that we are more confident with this, we worked independently to sort out images into the correct category. This task was a little bit different and allowed us to use our visual learning techniques.

We then researched different food chains and learned that a food chain is the transfer of energy when one animals eats another animals or plant. The top of the food chain is the animal that is not the prey to any other animal. We discovered that this is almost always the most powerful, strong or smartest animal in that habitat. We created different food chains for various habitats. We know that a food chain always starts with a producer (plant) as they produce their own food from the air and the sun and water 🌻☘️🌴🌡🌱🌷

We applied critical thinking skills when thinking about where humans are in a food chain and if we are herbivores, carnivores or omnivores! We also enjoyed considering where prehistoric animals would be in a food chains such as dinosaurs! Great investigating, P3! πŸ‘πŸΎ
