Celebrating Robert Burns

Over the last few weeks we’ve been learning about Robert Burns.  We all decided it would be nice to have a mini Burns celebration. We worked together to make cock-a-leekie soup using our peeling, chopping and grating skills. Sophie also brought in yummy shortbread for all of us to share. Happy Burns Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Developing our technology skills

This week we have been learning food preparation skills.

First of all we watched a video clip on how to use a peeler safely and then put the information we learned into action.

Then we learned how to use a grater and keep our fingers safe.

Most of us tried the grated carrot and really liked it. 🥕

Finally we learned how to use a juicer and chop fruit using the bridge and claw grip. We all achieved each skill safely and successfully. Our festive fruit cocktails were delicious.

Christmas Party

We had a great time at our Christmas party. Mrs Brown was very impressed with all the dance moves.  We were very excited when Santa came to visit. Merry Christmas everyone xx🎅🏻🤶🏻🎉🎄

Our local area

We’ve been learning about our local area including different house types, shops and amenities. We have looked at maps in the atlas and local maps. When we went on our local walk we completed missing details on a map and extended it when we returned to school.  This week are building a 3D model of our local area.

Feelings

This week we have been exploring our feelings.  We included feelings in our news writing, making faces to show how we feel and celebrating achievements.  We’ve all been feeling happy this week 😀

Congratulations to Scott’s aunt who completed the Edinburgh marathon while raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity and to Dylan who achieved Player of the Week at football training 🏅🏆 Scott and Dylan talked about how proud they felt.

Open Afternoon

A huge thank you to all our family who came to visit us today.  We really enjoyed showing off all our hard work.

Scott, thank you for your special message 👍
