P7 are learning about inheritance and what makes us look like our parents. We used a fictitious creature known as a Reebop to explain how chromosomes carry characteristics but also create variation.

P7 we’re looking at how acidic or alkali common household items are.
We tested milk, juice, washing up liquid and some other items we would find at home.
The P7s have been making rock, paper, scissors game and playing with each other. The microbits have an accelerometer in them that can detect motion when coded for.
Today the P7s were learning about the human skeleton and its importance. First we talked about its purpose and then researched the names of the bones.
To keep us creative we made our own X-rays using chalk and black paper.
P7 have started coding the microbits. They are coding. They have coded for some basic displays and a name tag!
Next week we will have a look at coding for games.
We have been learning about the respiratory system. One of the worst things you can do to your lungs is smoking. It stops Oxygen getting to your blood, creates a build up of tar and can cause cancer.
Look at our eye catching posters to warn people of the dangers!
Our little engineers are building the tallest structure they can using blocks. P7 tried several attempts to build and alter their structures to see which would not just be the strongest, but also the most stable.
Much excitement about using spheros! We will be using these as part of our coding sessions over the next few weeks.
Time for a new topic! We are looking at the systems of the body! First up is the circulatory system. We learned that there is oxygenated blood and deoxygenated blood. The different sides of the heart deals with the different types.
We also looked at the body parts using the VR headsets!
