Read Aloud Challenge

Read aloud is a month of events to celebrate learners and encourage awareness of the fun to be had from reading with children. The event celebrates not only the benefits of being able to read but also the efforts and achievements of Reading Recovery teachers and their pupils.
Starting on the 21st of February we had a challenge to get caught reading as often as possible. So far we have been caught reading in the class QR area, audio reading area, the class library and the library at the Foundry.

Equivalent Fractions

We have recently investigated equivalent fractions using numicon.  This helped us work out the correct equivalent fractions. We applied our previous knowledge and skills of making fractions and identify the numerator and denominator within a notation.

Fake News📺🎥🎞

This term we have investigated  news. We have explored where news comes from and how reliable it is. To start our topic we played a game of Call My Bluff.  Each group had an interesting 🧐 word with three definition.  Each member of the group had to deliver a convincing news report to persuade the class that they were telling the truth. Only one person was delivering the truth and the other members delivered fake news.
Miss Galloway was convinced by every report!
