Spaghetti Bridges

This week we’re making bridges using our previous knowledge of construction with Kinects and Lego. There is a twist thought! We are only given a limited amount of material and the material is quite brittle. You guessed it! We are using spaghetti.

Here’s how we did!

Transition to High School.

P7s are out at the high school today. A great way to start transitions. We started off with a safety lesson in chemistry! We even got to write on the desks.

Then we looked at Bunsen burners. Very exciting!

And burned some magnesium!

Physics was fun too! We looked at how static electricity works using a Van de Graaf generator. We made hair stand, foil plates fly and shocked our friends.

We then used static electricity to bend water.

Great day all round!

COP 27

Last years COP 26 was a special one for us in the Glasgow area. This year it’s taking place in Egypt but it is just as important globally. To raise awareness, the children are going to create up cycled crafts  to show that we can reuse things that people usually throw out. Some people can even make a living from this! Who knows if we have any budding entrepreneurs in the P7!

This week we are starting off with a poster and a chat about what creations we could make in the following weeks.  (ARTICLE 4 and 28)
