Today we watched Safer Internet Day 🎥 films.
We discussed a range of scenarios and decided if they were okay, not okay, not sure about this, it depends or it’s fine.
One scenario we explored was. You decide to share a funny photo of your friend to a group chat, even though you know they don’t like the photo. This was great at stimulating lots of discussion in the class.
Later in the week we watched the BBC ‘Free to Be’ online clip and discussed why it is important to have the freedom and confidence to be yourself online, not to worry about other people’s opinions and realise that a lot of what people post is only the good parts of a day. We discussed we should not compare ourself to others or allow negative comments to make us sad.

We used an equality thermometer to place different people like a doctor, politician, farmer, child and teacher. We discussed who was the most important person online. The children worked hard to decide the importance but soon realised we all have equal importance online.
Keep posted to see what we discover about the internet and keeping safe as the week continues.

We have recently investigated equivalent fractions using numicon. This helped us work out the correct equivalent fractions. We applied our previous knowledge and skills of making fractions and identify the numerator and denominator within a notation.

This term we have investigated news. We have explored where news comes from and how reliable it is. To start our topic we played a game of Call My Bluff. Each group had an interesting 🧐 word with three definition. Each member of the group had to deliver a convincing news report to persuade the class that they were telling the truth. Only one person was delivering the truth and the other members delivered fake news.
Miss Galloway was convinced by every report!

Every multiplication ninja needs a multiplication power bracelet. We are currently working on all multiplication tables from two to nine. Soon we will be sitting our multiplication ninja tests to see what colour of belt we are on. Keep practising Primary 4!

This is our new upgraded library. We enjoyed designing and putting it together today. This is definitely going to be a popular target 🎯 in our class. We would like to thank the parent council and the Co-op.

In gymnastics we have been learning how to stretch and strengthen our bodies. We worked together to make rules to keep us safe and begin to risk assess our equipment. We worked together to make sure everyone was safe when using the climbing frame, trampoline and other equipment.

This is what Primary 4’s class library looked like before we decided to change it. We enjoyed spending time reading books, listening to CD books and using our class QR code area.
Keep posted to see what it looks like in a week or two.
