Excitement and hard work in P7/2

There has been so much excitement across Primary 7, as the pupils take up their various roles of responsibility.  Some of these roles include; Pupil Council, House Captains, Library Monitors, Rights Respecting Representatives and Junior Road Safety Officers.

This week is maths week. Pupils have enjoyed a whole variety of maths based activities including code breaking, escape rooms and maths art, ‘Curves of Pursuit’.

Everyone is enjoying learning more about World War 2 and the pupils have been imagining they were evacuees and writing letters home. They have also been learning about, ‘Propaganda’ and the roles of women throughout World War 2. In addition to this we have been learning about rationing, why it was introduced, and how it worked.

Part of P7/2’s Religious and Moral Education  is learning all about, ‘Black Lives Matter’. We are also looking closely at Unicef’s Rights of the Child, as we continue to go for our Gold Rights Respecting School’s award.

We have some very talented artists in P7/2 and have been learning different drawing techniques, including pointillism and using pattern. The results have been really effective.

We look forward to the next few weeks of learning.

Welcome to Primary 7

We have had a great start to Primary 7/2. Everyone is enjoying new experiences and responsibilities and looking forward to life as seniors at Crossarthurlie.

We have started learning about World War 2 and we are having fabulous class chats about how different it would have been to live in Great Britain between 1939 and 1945.

Our class charter is complete and we are trying hard to respect each other and follow class rules.  We have also picked some personal goals  to aim for during Primary 7.

So much fun is ahead of us this year👍.Our personal goalsP7/2 class charterOur topic: WW2

Farewell Primary 6

Primary 6 had another good year at Cross Arthurlie and despite a period of learning from home, they’ve shown resilience and confidence by bouncing back.  We look forward to seeing everyone back in Primary 7 – for a final year at Cross Arthurlie.

Scottish Parliament

The children have been learning about The Scottish Parliament.  They worked together to create their own political parties, wrote persuasive manifestos and voted for a candidate to represent their party.  They then made their own rosettes to represent that party.

Tennis Skills

The children have been developing their Tennis skills and have enjoyed being outdoors.  They have been learning about footwork, serving, forehand and backhand strokes.
