We can use a calendar to plan and organise key events in our class.
We can identify the number of days in a month.
30 days has September, April, June and November. All the rest have thirty one. February has 28 and 29 in a leap year.

Learning to spell in Primary 4 is a fun and messy system.
Having fun is important so we learn in a creative way. Β We use lots of different approaches such as making, seeing, doing, hearing and reading.
We investigated lungs and found out that our lungs make up one of the largest organs in our body. Β They work with our respiratory system to allow us to take in fresh air, get rid of stale air and talk. Β We are all very good at that!
Our lungs are protected by our rib cage so it makes it hard to feel them but we can see them in action when we put our hands on our chest.
We tried to create the inside of a lung showing the two large tubes (bronchi or bronchus) and the tiniest tubes called bronchioles using straws and toothpicks. Β We decided to use raisins at the end of the bronchioles to make the teeny tiny air sacs called alveoli.
We really know lots about the human body now.
ββπMindfulnessπ ββ
We practise yoga and mindfulness as often as possible in Primary 4. Β It is important to nurture a sense of inner peace to enhance self-confidence and be able to learn and enjoy school.
Have a look at Moodjuice at www.moodjuice.scot.nhs.uk for information and advice on troublesome thoughts and feelings.
Cosmic kids www.cosmickids.com is a great website to help children develop skills in yoga through engaging stories.
Have a look at us cooling down after yoga.
Over the last few weeks we have explored probability and we can now explain that probability is the likelihood or chance that a given event will occur.
We can make reasonable predictions about events and enjoyed taking part in a probability task using sweets π¬ππ. Β We developed a probability area model and used it to find probabilities of events. Β This allowed us to develop a strong conceptual understanding.
We didnβt eat any of the sweets ππ.
We also created probability posters and enjoyed playing lots of different games to try and find the chance of rolling the same number on dice π².
We have explored the brain, lungs, skeleton, muscle system and digestive system.
We have enjoyed learning about the human body in many different ways. We investigated the majour organs using QR codes, VR headsetsΒ and chrome books.
We made lungs using plastic bags and a spine using art straws and egg boxes.
We added a small amount of colour to white paint to create different shades. Β We then added a small amount of black to create darker shades. Β This is going to be a scary background for our haunted houses.
We continued to learn about the human body with the help of our friends and families.
Thank you to all the visitors!
With your help we made lungs and a spine.
We learn about multiplication and division in many different ways. Have a look at some of the targets we choose to explore with our friends.
We carry out practical tasks using concrete materials to develop our understanding of multiplucation facts. Β We then apply our knowledge of multiplication to solve division problems.
Cracking the multiplication code!
.Β
We have to match the correct product with multiplication calculation on Lego blocks. Playing cards are a fun way to multiply and our friends check we have the correct answer using a calculator.
We place the correct eggs π³Β in the egg box for the chosen multiplication.
Tumbling tower multiplication helps us practise our mathematical skills and our building skills.
We are great at creating arrays to demonstrate our understanding of multiplication facts.
We enjoyed exploring the VR headsets today.
