Christmas is Coming

We have been busy writing amazing Christmas stories about waking up on Christmas morning and seeing Santa. We have been learning how to describe the setting of a story using our senses.

We loved sharing our stories with the rest of the class and peer assessing them.

During Literacy we read an non-fiction text all about ‘Reindeer’ and answered questions about them.

Then we decided to make our own reindeer headbands to transform our class into Santa’s reindeer for his sleigh.

Look at our red noses glowing!

P3.1 wish everybody a Merry Chirstmas!

P3 Music and Mandarin

P3 have really enjoyed working with our music specialist Mrs Duggie this term to learn new rythms and names for sounds.

We have also enjoyed having Mrs Chu on a Friday afternoon to teach us Mandarin. We now know how to say hello, count to 10 and say different colours.

Look at the wonderful Pandas we made!

Children in Need – The Pudsey Games

We all worked very hard to raise lots of money for Children in Need, we raised a fantastic £404! We decided to organise a sports day called ‘The Pudsey Games’ and designed posters to advertise the event.

We dressed up in ‘Spotty and Sporty’ clothes on Friday 17th November.

We also did a ‘Guess the marble’ competition to win a Pudsey Bear. The winner was Cameron Steed in P6/1.

Heartstart

We have been learning what to do in an emergency. We know how to put someone in the recovery position and what to do if someone has a serious bleed.

Outdoor Learning Day

We enjoyed learning all about the traditions in the  Scottish Highlands. As part of Outdoor Learning Day we held our own Highland Games with ‘toss the wellie’, tug o war and highland dancing.

We also learned how to play traditional  playground games – marbles.

Maths Week

P3.1 loved learning how to measure in metres and centimetres. We found lots of things in our playground that were more, less or the same as a metre.

We loved learning how to measure ingredients to make cookies. We followed a recipe and measured the flour, butter, sugar, milk and vanilla essence.

The best part was getting to taste our final product.
