Primary 5 had a great day celebrating World Book Day. We enjoyed dressing up as our favourite book characters and listening to our favourite books during a story session.
Mrs McWilliams was also very impressed during our World Book Day quiz!

Thanks to all our parents and carers who visited our classroom to see and hear all about our learning.
We all had a fun-filled afternoon of carrying out various science experiments.
Primary 5 enjoyed having a wacky hair day at school to raise money for the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
Thanks to all the children, parents and carers for your generous donations. We loved seeing all the crazy hair styles!
Over the last few weeks we have been learning ‘The Oompa Loompa’ dance. We finally put all the moves together and performed with the music as a whole class.
Have a look at our video! We hope you enjoy!
Thank you to all the parents/carers who helped design and create the sweet machines for our class project. The finished products are amazing!
Today we enjoyed learning about staying safe when using the internet. We explored the Think U Know website and reported back with our findings.
Primary 5 enjoyed investigating and learning about friction. We worked together in small groups to suggest ways in which we could make a fair test before making predictions about what we thought would happen. We enjoyed testing how far the car would travel on different surfaces.
P5 had a fantastic afternoon on Friday when Mr Thomson kindly came into school to tell us more about the Scottish Wars of Independence. We enjoyed looking at chainmail which was used to protect the Knights and some of us were lucky enough to try it on! (It was very heavy!).
We also enjoyed watching Mr Thomson showcasing the weapons used during this period. Our favourite moment was the watermelon being destroyed by a very large axe!
Thanks again Mr Thomson.
P5 had a great day out at Stirling Castle! We learned lots more about The Scottish Wars of Independence.
P5 enjoyed taking part in lots of activities during Maths Week. We learned that Maths ‘is everywhere’ and is relevant to day-to-day life and work.
Together in small groups we decided on a business name and recipe for our smoothie stalls . We then assigned ourselves roles in order to prepare our product to sell. These included designing, advertising, marketing and finance.
We used our knowledge and skills of money to work out the costing to buy ingredients and also used our data handling skills to carry out a survey on the most popular smoothie after our group presentations. We were then able to use this information to create bar graphs.
The best part of the week was being able to make the winning smoothie. Who knew Maths could be so fun!
