We are really enjoying working together to learn all about World War 2. We have incorporated our learning across the curriculum to find out more about the different battles, how war affected life in Britain and lots of other aspects of war in 1940s.
Code Cracking
The enigma machine was used by the Germans to send secret messages during the war. Thankfully, Britain had amazing mathematicians who were able to crack this code. We had a go at using our online enigma machines to write and decipher our own messages.
Morse code was another important way of sending secret messages during wartime. We investigated the history of Morse Code, had a go at cracking some messages and then we applied our scientific skills on electric circuits to create our own Mose Code machines. Â We had fun trying them out with the class.
