Our task was to research a Victorian home and design a suitable house for a wealthy Victorian. We were able to draw a detailed plan or create a model. We worked independently or with a partner. Our designs included the key features of a Victorian home, information about each room of the house and have appropriate living areas for both servants and the family members.
Today in Primary 6 we showed our designs to the other primary 6 class and presented our information. We were all really impressed by each other’s designs and gave each other some great feedback!
This week in Maths we were given the challenge of buying Christmas gifts and sticking to a budget. Some of us chose to work in a group and others worked independently.
We also enjoyed learning about improper fractions and mixed numbers.
As part of our Europe topic we had to research a European country of our choice and create a leaflet. We peer assessed each other’s work. Primary 7 also made a visit to our class to read our leaflets and give us some valuable feedback.
Today we learned how to give CPR to someone who has had a cardiac arrest. We listened very carefully and were able to give chest compressions and rescue breaths.
We have been having good fun learning about equivalent fractions.
We presented our Fireworks safety posters to Primary 2. We wanted to make sure they stayed safe on Bonfire night. We think they really enjoyed our visit!
Today we researched fireworks safety and created our own posters with a slogan and a safety message. We are going to share our message about how to keep safe on bonfire night with some of the younger children in the school.
Primary 6 had great fun visiting primary 7. We listened to their spooky stories and ate Halloween fruit treats. We thought they had tried very hard to use engaging vocabulary and had chosen excellent titles for their stories. We enjoyed peer assessing their writing. We would love them to come to our class next time for a visit!
