Safety in the Park

Primary 7 attended the annual Safety in the Park day at Arthurlie House.  We learned a lot about how to stay safe as we grow up and how to become more independent in high school.
(Written by Class Blogger).

We were being investigators and figuring out what happened  in the car crash.

We were talking to a man from Scottish Power about how to save energy and the type of things he does every day in his job .

This was a lady who deals with rubbish and animals that get stuck in it, like giant rats.

How much sugar is in our favourite drinks? We were shocked to learn that some are more sugary than we think!

We were trying on drunk googles and TRYING to do activities . It was equivalent to drinking 20 bottles of beer !!!!!

We watched a video about cyber bullying . We learned what to post on social media and what not to post .

Stranger Danger.
I think this was everyone’s  favourite activity.  When we came out of Arthurlie  House  we were told to turn one left and the instructor would  be standing there  but someone else was standing there and was taking us away from Arthurlie House. We were getting suspicious ! Then a Police women shouted us so we ran to her.  She told us we were to turn to the left and the lady was kidnapping us. We found out how easy it was to be fooled!

We all had a great day and learned a lot about how to stay safe. I’m sure we will all think about this experience in the future.

Welcome to Primary 7!

A very warm welcome to Primary 7.2’s class blog where will share lots of learning and achievements from our class. We like to make learning fun and we can’t wait to share our experiences.

Bikeability Assessment

A big thank you to all the parent helpers who  volunteered to assist with our bikeability level 2 training.  We really appreciate your help.

Today was our assessment and the instructors were very impressed with our abilities. Well done Primary 6/2.

Journey of Bananas

As part of our Caribbean topic we investigated the Journey of Bananas across the Atlantic to our supermarket shelves. After taking notes we had to work in groups to create a new text and present our findings to the class.

Bikeability on the road

Yesterday we had our second bikeability session on the road.  We practised our uncontrolled left turns, controlled right turns and slow down and stop.  We are starting to feel much more confident on the road!

Chinese knotting

As part of Chinese art week we were taught the skill of Chinese knotting, an ancient tradition in China that represents good luck and prosperity.  We got to look at fabulous examples and then made one of our own.   First we made a wish and put it in an envelope.  We then used our new skill to create the knotting.   Some of us were so fast we even got to create our own bracelet.  Take a look.
